A Pair Of Top-Tens For RGC Sports In Edmonton

Round six of the 2022 NASCAR Pinty’s Series Championship took place on the tight quarter mile oval track at Edmonton International Raceway. The RGC Sports team had a solid qualifying session with all four entries lining up alongside each other from Treyten Lapcevich in sixth to Mark Dilley in ninth. The race began well with all four drivers making moves toward the front of the field.

Brandon Watson was running up front all night long, and his late-race charge for the front was interrupted by contact with a lapped car that caused him to spin, and ultimately finish sixth. Gary Klutt ran as high as third and looked to challenge for the race win, but his cars handling went off with his final set of tires. He still brought home a solid top-10 with an eight place finish. Mark Dilley was running in the top ten until a series of mechanical issues caused him to lose laps while pitting for repairs. Mark eventually brought the car home in 12th. Treyten Lapcevich suffered bad luck with an alternator issue that forced him to go laps down while his battery was replaced. Despite being one of the fastest cars on the track the set back landed him a 17th place finish.

TJ Rinomato did not enter this event, but will be back in the action when the series makes it’s next stop on the tour in Saskatoon at Sutherland Automotive Raceway on July 27. Check out the reactions from the RGC Sports drivers below.
