A Podium And a Top 5 for RGC Sports at CTMP

The classic Labour Day Weekend event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park kicked off under sunny skies and hot temperatures on Saturday, and things got off to a great start for RGC Sports in the afternoon qualifying session. Gary Klutt brought his car home in second position to start from the outside pole while Treyten Lapcevich put in a solid lap to take the fourth-place spot.

Sunday brought very different temperatures with an overcast sky and cool temperatures. Despite their great starting spots Gary and Treyten both had pit-lane penalties placed on them that caused them to lose significant track position. Both drivers refused to let the penalties ruin their day with Gary fighting his way all the way back to a 3rd place finish, while Treyten fought his way back to 5th. Brandon Watson had a solid run and turned many laps with the leaders on his way to an 11th place finish. The race started off great for TJ Rinomato who quickly passed 6 cars for position on track, until his day was ended by a failed transmission. Mark Dilley had a similar day to TJ and was impacted by transmission problems as well, ultimately finishing 22nd.

Next up for RGC Sports is the final race of the 2022 season at the ½ oval at Delaware Speedway in London, Ontario. Check out the reaction from the RGC Sports drivers below.
