Another Pair of Top-Ten’s For RGC Sports at Circuit ICAR

The NASCAR Pinty’s Series teams travelled to Quebec for the final time in 2022, for the 11th race of the Championship at Circuit ICAR in Mirabel, QC. A persistent misting rain through the morning hours caused the 10:00 am practice session to be cancelled. NASCAR announced the decision to line up the cars by points, and use the afternoon qualifying session as a practice session. This move had Treyten Lapcevich starting in 4th, Brandon Watson 8th, Gary Klutt 9th, and Mark Dilley 11th.

The race began under sunny skies and fans packed the grandstands at the tight, challenging Circuit ICAR that is partially based on the runways of Mirabel Airport. Mechanical issues for Gary Klutt (21st) and Mark Dilley (19th) made for a challenging day for both drivers. Treyten Lapcevich and Brandon Watson both made their debuts at Circuit ICAR, and despite their rookie status at this track they both brought their cars home in the top ten with 8th and 9th place finishes respectively.

The road course cars get loaded in the haulers and headed back to Ontario to be turned around for the huge event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park next Sunday, September 4th where TJ Rinomato will return to action. Check out the reactions from the RGC Sports drivers below.
