Lapcevich Wins, Four Top-Tens for RGC Sports in Ohsweken

The NASCAR Pinty’s Series inaugural race on a dirt oval track at Ohsweken Speedway on Tuesday night was a huge success, with the fans who packed the grandstands being treated to a great race and thrilling finish. The starting grid was set by running twin 10 lap qualifier races, which saw Gary Klutt start 4th, Treyten Lapcevich 5th, Brandon Watson 9th, and Jake Sheridan – sitting in for Mark Dilley – in 10th.

When the checkered flag dropped it was non-stop action as drivers explored the high and low grooves while the track worked in. Lapcevich was fast all race and passed Marc Antoine-Camirand for the lead near the mid-way point of the race. Lapcevich went on to lead 53 laps and had the measure of the field, until a late caution set up a NASCAR Overtime green/white/checker finish. Lapcevich held off a charge from Stewart Friesen, as the pair battled hard out of the final turn of the race and down the front-straight.

The thrilling victory was topped-off by great results from all four RGC Sports drivers, with Jake Sheridan coming 3rd, Gary Klutt 9th, and Brandon Watson 10th. TJ Rinomato will return to action at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on September 4th. Next up on the schedule the RGC Sports team heads back to Quebec to Circuit ICAR in Mirabel on August 27th.
